A Grayton Wedding Day

Jessica and Ryan's wedding day went beautifully.  There were a few moments of worry as dark clouds rolled by, but it proved to pass on by with minimal showers.  It was a neat experience to be on the beach in the house where the wedding was taking place.  We enjoyed the beach the first part of the day and then starting preparing for the wedding.  

Due to Amanda's bedrest, Chance, Logan, and herself were unable to make the trip.  Before the wedding we Facetimed her and walked around the house.  She was able to see all the decorations and set up.  Then at wedding time we called again so that they could be "at" the wedding.  It was very sad to watch her have to see her brother's wedding via Facetime.  Although, I am super thankful for the technology that allowed her to witness the event.

Rehearsal Day

Today was a great day on the beach.  The sun was warm and we were able to play and enjoy the sand.  After a day full of beach fun, we all got dressed for rehearsal and dinner.  Since the wedding is going to be simple there was not much to rehearse tonight.  It was a great excuse for a big dinner.  We had some yummy filets, shrimp, and fish off the grill.  Big Daddy and Jon did a fabulous job with all the grilling.  Dinner was gorgeous with the sun setting in the background with the water.  It was warm enough that we were able to sit and eat on the decks and watch nature's beauty.  The laid back atmosphere gave way for easy introductions and getting to know Jessica's family.  Ryan's Grandma and Grandpa even made the trip for the wedding.  Late in the night, Grandma even got in a game of dominoes with everyone.  I think we are all excited for the wedding tomorrow.  

A Grayton Wednesday

Finally by Wednesday morning we are all here in Grayton.  (Except for poor Amanda and family. . . she is at home trying to keep herself on the couch for bedrest.)  Tuesday night I drove to Panama City Beach Airport to pick up Max and Jay.  They flew down after school and work.  Now they will get to enjoy the rest of the week with us.  Josh, Holly, and Charlotte also got here today.  It is great having everyone here together.  As soon as Max got up he headed down to the water.  With it being April the water and air is still pretty cool.  It feels good as long as the sun is shining on you.  Just don't get in the shade!!  It gets cold really quick in the shade.  Since the water is a little cool to swim, we have had fun playing on the beach today.  Max and I have had some paddle ball competitions and we have spent lots of time just hanging out together.  It is relaxing to be able to sit and talk.

On Tuesday Big Daddy, Jon, and Mike went out for a morning of deep sea fishing.  They caught a good amount that we were able to enjoy the rest of the week.  It was nice to have the fresh fish to grill for lunches and snacks through out the week.  Mary Kate, Jace, Josie, and I walked down the beach to see them come in at lunch time.  It is always interesting to see what they and the other boats caught each morning.
