Rockettes with the Girls

December 15, 2014

I have always wanted to go see the Rockettes, but never have gotten around to it while they are in town for their Christmas show.  When I found out that this was their last year here I just knew I had to go and take MaryKate.  Well, Jay and Max were not thrilled about the idea so I decided to turn it into a girls' night.  I talked to my sister in law Josie and she also really wanted to go.  So I made the leap and bought the tickets.  I also called my niece, Kayla, and invited her to go along with us.  We had the best night out with just us girls.  I took them to the Aquarium for dinner and they loved checking out all the fish.  Then we walked across to the Grand Ole Opry to see the show.  We were all so excited as we found our seats and waited for it to begin.  I was in awe of the precision and beauty of the tapping lovelies.  It was incredible to watch them perform and see the hard work they put into the show.  We each had our own favorite parts, but enjoyed every minute of it.  I am so glad I got to spend to evening with some of my favorite gals!

December Moments

Max was the first to get his Epic Ski Pass for the Vail Resorts.  We are looking forward to that trip to Colorado in January.

MaryKate got the honor of opening the Disney store while we were shopping with Grandma and Shannon during the holidays.  She wore Mickey's robe and sorcerer's hat while saying the magic word to open the store.  It was a sweet moment to watch her interact and perform the ritual.

Max and I got matching hats for the ski trip.  He is such a love in my life!!  I can't get enough of that sweet boy and his snuggles.

MaryKate and Knox her first real crush!  We have heard so much about her "boyfriend Knox" and their days together at school.  I am not sure I'm ready for all this boy crazy life of hers, but I guess I have to be.  Knox is a sweet little cutie and they love to play together whenever they can.

Jace Man came to visit and had fun with the presents and lights on the tree.  He reminds me so of my baby Max.  Sweet days.

Dance class

December 8, 20114
MaryKate began taking Dance this year in August.  Tonight was the much anticipated parent night.  The girls got to show off their new skills that they have been working on each week behind the closed door.  She was excited to show us her tapping and tumbling.  I was proud to see how well her cartwheels are looking and how confident she is becoming.  Now after Christmas break they will begin working on recital pieces for May.

MaryKate

I love this little spitfire angel!  She is such a blessing in our lives.  MaryKate always has something (or alot) to say and isn't afraid to tell you all about it.  She is growing up to be a beautiful little lady that I am sure will continue to make us proud.  I cannot wait to she where all life takes her!

Kelley Gatlinburg Trip

November 13-16, 2014

This weekend we ventured to Gatlinburg with Jay's parents and sister's family.  We rented a cabin and spent the weekend shopping and playing around the towns.  It was nice to get away from the hustle of life and reconnect with one another.  It was also great to put a dent in our Christmas shopping before we are caught up in the middle of the season.

One night we opted to try out the newly built Mountain Coaster.  It was freezing cold as we waited our turn to ride the mountain.  The ride took you up a track to the mountain top.  At the top your cart was released to zoom and circle down the mountain side.  We all had a blast and hope to do it on another trip when its a bit warmer.

While walking in Gatlinburg we found a really pretty spot by the creek for a little photo op.

A new addition to the Gatlinburg strip are the moonshine and whiskey distilleries.  We had our moment while visiting and sampling each of their creations.  It was all fun and games until it hit and you realized you hadn't eaten in hours!  Then we were quick to head to Bennett's BBQ to fill up on food and BREAD!

Another new adventure on this trip was our family photo session.  We took the kids to one of the western dress up stores and had fun getting dolled up and posing for pictures.

October Birthdays

November 1, 2014

Tonight we went to Jon and Josie's house to celebrate birthdays.  Josh and Jon turned THIRTY this week and Jay welcomed thirty-four years.  Since it was so close to Halloween, they decided to make it a costume party.  All four grandkids looked adorable dressed up for the event.
