Easter Treats

April 20, 2011
Today I went to Max's school and helped with an Easter project.  We made Rice Krispie Treats and then shaped them into eggs for Easter.  The idea was for the kids to take them home . . . but it didn't quite work that way.  They loved eating them as they molded them into eggs.  By the time they were done, there was very little treat left to take home.  We decided to just encourage them to eat  and enjoy the unplanned snack.  They were very creative as they decorated them with sprinkles, sugars, and candy.  It was a VERY sticky and messy project, but loads of laughs as we all played in the warm mush.  Thanks Ms. Gina for letting me come and help out!

Learning to Brush

April 20, 2011
Mary Kate finally has enough teeth to start learning how to brush them.  She has been getting Max's toothbrushes out of the drawer and chewing on them for a few weeks now; so I bought her a pink one with her own toothpaste.  She loves it and is very proud to do it herself.  She will let us start out brushing, but she quickly takes over and stands next to Max at the sink grinning and brushing.  Too Cute, so I had to snap a picture this morning.

T-Ball Game 1

April 19, 2011
Tonight was our first t-ball game of our first season.  The team did a really good job and came out with a first win!  Yay!  It was so much fun watching them play and watching the Dads interact with each of them.  When the ball is hit they all come running to get it.  (Even if it involves some hits and tumbles like football!)  It is going to be a great season of baseball and friends.  It is amazing that there is standing room only at the t-ball field!  Lots of proud Mommies, Daddies, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends!

Win!  and we didn't get to bat for the last time!

Kelley Easter

April 16, 2011

Wow!  Yes, as you can tell our Saturday was packed out.  We started the morning with breakfast at Cracker Barrel, just the four of us.  Secondly we had pictures with the bunnies that I posted earlier.  Then we had an Easter Egg Hunt at the hospital.  Next we went to the skating rink for all the Cousins  Birthday Parties.  Finally we arrived back at the Kelley's for our Easter.  We celebrated Easter with the Kelley Family this weekend since Shannon, Ty, Tristan, and Kayla were all going to be home.  We did our annual Easter egg hunt and all the kids racked up.  This is the first year that money had been in the eggs.  Each egg had a quarter in it and there were over 200 eggs in the front yard.  To say to the least, the kids racked up.  Mary Kate even collected $1.75.  She was very tired and did not understand why everyone was telling her to "pick it up"  and "put them in your basket."  She thought we were crazy.  The rest of the kids ran like crazy and picked them all up in a matter of minutes.  Due to the weather, we had to go inside to count treasures and money.  I think Jacob collected the most eggs this year.  We followed the hunt with a great steak dinner that required some family members to eat off 2 plates because their first plate had too much on it!  Yummmy.  It was all so good and so much fun.  I love reliving holidays through my kids.

3 Birthdays in One

April 16, 2011
Saturday we had lots of celebrating to do at the skating rink.  We partied for Tristan's 6th, Kayla's 8th, and Jacob's 11th birthdays. We are so blessed to have these 3 kid-os in our lives.  They each add a special touch to our family.  It was loads of fun to skate and try to teach Max how to skate.  Tristan and Max were a real pair falling all over the floor.  They didn't care at all though, they were just happy to be together and having fun.  We had a Twilight theme, a Star Wars theme, and a Skulls theme during the pizza and cake portion of the party.  It was amazing how each table blended with the next to make the whole room look great.  Happy Birthday!!

Spring Pics

April 16, 2011
This weekend the kid-os had pictures made with bunnies at a local shop in town. Just like last year, Max loved the bunnies and wanted to take them home.  (Shhhh, please don't tell him they were for sale!)  Mary Kate had a different take on the situation.  I think she was stunned at so many people cheering her on to smile and pet the bunny.  She just glared back at us and then I decide to give her a bunny.  This sent her into hysterics and the picture shoot was over.  Funny memories!

April 13, 2011
The weather was sunny today and my iris are in full bloom . . . . so I decide to attempt to get a quick picture of the kids before lunch.  Hahaha!  It is next to impossible to get your own kids to sit dow, be quite, stop touching, look at me,  and smile!  all at the same town.  After a few gazillion pictures, these are my favorite two . . .

Tristan's Birthday

We had an impromptu visit this week with Tristan and Kayla.  We were very excited because it happens to be Tristan's birthday week.  The Kelley gang went to Dos to celebrate when they got to town on Thursday.  It was fun to have all the kids together, and they behaved nicely for 8 kids in a restaurant.  Tristan requested chocolate on chocolate for his cake . . . so that's what I got him!  Then the fellas at Dos surprised him with a whip cream filled fried ice cream and singing.  Tristan was thoroughly embarrassed, but proud of his sombrero.  Happy #6 sweet boy!

Tristan, you've gotta a little something . . .
