Decades of Birthdays

May 29, 2011
This spring our cul-de-sac experienced several milestone birthdays.  We had a 30th, 40th, and 50th to celebrate.  The idea arose to have a big party with a band and we all ran with the idea.  The afternoon started with a cookout for all our family and close friends.  We had great grilled burgers and hot dogs with all the fixins.  We cooled off from the heat wave by swimming in the pool and the kids played on the board and slide.  After singing and cake we all got ready for the big party.  We had watched the band set up all day and were excited to hear them.  They started playing as the sun set and rocked on until a little after midnight. At the height of the night I believe we had around 200+ people in attendance. The 50th birthday boy found the band so it was lots of childhood music for me.  They sounded really good and played hits from the 70s and 80s.  We had lots of fun watching and listening to them.  As the night got later a few people made it to the dance floor to show their stuff.  It was a memorable night and wonderful to party with such wonderful friends.
