Atlanta Trip Day One

July 4, 2012
This year Max picked our vacation destination.  He has been dreaming and wishing to visit the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, GA.  So we decided that we would pack up and make it a trip.  Our first stop once there was the Legoland Discovery Center.  We spent the day building and learning about Legos.  Max was in heaven.  The place was full of different Lego activities.  There were small kid rides and a family ride through the castle with laser guns.  One area showed how Legos and made and the different processes each block goes through before it is sent to a store.  Here we got to measure how many Legos we were tall and how many Legos we weighed.  After that we headed into the building areas.  Max and Jay had fun building Lego racers and sending them down the big ramps.  Mary Kate and I played in the Lego Friends area with the cupcake Legos and the karaoke center.  Next we all four went to a master builders class and learned how to make the mega Lego bricks used for all the huge creations.  We also enjoyed the 4-D movies with water splashing in our faces and air moving around.  Mary Kate enjoyed the play area that looked like a Lego Fire Dept.  We all had a great day in Legoland.  After a quick bite to eat, we headed over to watch fireworks.  We found a great place to put up our little camp of chairs, and of course Max found some friends and started tossing corn hole.  The fireworks in Lenox Square were incredible and we all left very impressed and TIRED.  Once we got back into the car the kids fell asleep quickly.
